From Argentina:

Masako Itoh My name is Justa Masako Itoh. I am argentinian comedian. Like Woody Allen said: “I think being funny is not anyone´s first choice”. This was for me also. In 2005, tired of the permanent caricaturization of “the japanese” in mass media of my country, I wrote some articles in nikkeis publications to animate an emerge of our own voice as Nikkei to object the Collective imagination witch reproduce again and again false clichés of Japanese people or japanese faces. In spite of my extreme shyness, one day I performed a monologue written by me about my experience being Nikkei in Buenos aires and my sensation of do not belong to any part. Permanently, I try to included humor in all my activities, i am a free-lance journalist , columnist in a radio programme called “JAPÓN HOY” transmitted by the Radio Palermo and I participate of the Meetings of volunteers de AUN dedicated to the third age. I’d like closer the third age to the humour. As much as spectators as actors, story teller or rapporteurs on their own experiences of life.
